JW2 came down last weekend for a concert at the Grizz. Brooke joined us for some Pat Green...it wasn't the greatest Pat Green concert ever but it was definitely a good time. I also put on a "show" and brought a few Air Force Academy grads back to reality...they thought they could charm their way out of anything...but as "much older" (yes, they said that about me and Brooke) women, it was our public service to keep them in check. Some quotes of the night:
Academy kid to Jess: How do you put up with her?
Jess: She likes me!
Me: No wonder we can't win at war (not that we should be there anyway) with kid's like these leading our country. (That was mean, but seriously...they were annoying)
Jess and Jo brought Eileen's cookies that were were able to introduce to Brooke. In High School we'd visit regularly on Parkway Day and called them "crack cookies." Seriously though, there is crack in those cookies.
Jen was also in town for a conference and we had a good time even without Morgan ;-) Madre and Bjorn joined us on Wednesday night for dinner at the Broker...it was nice. The dining is in the basement of a bank so the ambiance is nice. The next time I see my sister she'll have TWO kids. Crazy.
Yesterday my dad tried out his Birthday present...Rock Band! It was awesome...he needs to practice a bit because I basically rocked it way more than him, but that is one fun "video" game.
The best part of this weekend is that thanks to my new job...I get some state holidays! Like MLK day! So its a three day weekend...three weeks 'til Mexico and a little more than 2 weeks until the Colorado caucus...which basically means I need to tan, diet and phone/bank canvass non-stop for the next 2 weeks...and somehow I'm envisioning that being rough on me (especially since I'm about to go eat waffles and watch tv)!
