This week I learned that some
awful woman s
tole all of the money from
Hands in Harmony. I was in this group as a kid (starting at the ripe old age of 5 and through middle school). Yes, its kind of lame when you think about it, but it was a good organization that helped me make some of the greatest friends I've had, build some confidence, break out of my shyness (which didn't really happen until my very last performance, but still!), taught me how to deal with all of the "stuff" that goes into being "involved", and most importantly, helped me learn how to perfect the art of the "dirty look."
Its really sad that these kids worked so hard to raise money for their tour and its all gone. (On a side note, they never toured anywhere cool like NY until
after I was gone...) I'll be donating some money...and if you can
help,
that would be good too.
Above: Vintage Brea, circa 1989, rocking her Hands in Harmony prarie duds. Can you spot me? Can you spot my sister? (Hint...we're sitting next to each other!) I'm still friends with many of these crazies...and that says something!
