High-falutin', Rootin', Tootin'

So...I've had a weird day (and its like 8am). I won't even get into the cousin drama in the blogosphere...

But...I did hear some very cool news today and that is that my beloved Longhorns (or as my friend Jess says: Texas...Your Texas...) are planning on heading up to play the Wyoming Cowboys in Laramie in September 09. Having recently witnessed Wyoming Football...I must say that it'll be a pretty good whoopin' for them...but kudos to their head coach for not being afraid to play a Big 12 BCS team. That is going to be one killer tailgate friends...I'm hoping it'll be Morgan and Matthew's first experience with Texas Football and, since Wyoming is in their blood as well (Jen is a grad), they can kill two birds with one stone since I doubt their Auburn ties will allow many more Texas football experiences unless Auntie Mimi kidnaps them (and trust me, I'm not above it).

Even better is the news that Wyoming will head to Austin TWICE to play (in '10? '11? Who knows). You know what that means Wyoming friends? Road (or plane) Trip! Friday night at the wineries and Salt Lick, Saturday football, Saturday night 6th street...Sunday toobing down the comal or guadalupe river...and lots and lots and lots of Taco Cabana and Mexican Martinis. Mark your calendars...even if it takes place when we are well into "old age" (aka our 30s).

Today is opening day in baseball here in Denver and the first time I've experienced it working downtown. There is definitely a discernible energy in the air as the National League Champion Colorado Rockies return home. Baseball is unlike any other sport in terms of atmosphere and vibe...so hopefully I'll make it to a game here soon.

In political news...Hillbilly made a completely asinine comment calling herself "Paulette Revere" (Paulette Revere? Really?) since she did so much to warn folks about the economy (The recession is coming! The recession is coming!). Seriously, whoever crafted that memo should be fired.

Oh, and Obama raised more than $40million last month (Average donation? Less than $100), compared to Hillbilly's $20million...and word is she doesn't pay her bills. Hey Paulette! If you can't pay your own campaign bills...how are you going to manage to pay America's?

Don't worry...it's the "other" side of the family...
