Well folks, after much internal struggle and debate (I tried to talk myself out of it!) I got an iphone on Saturday...and it's fabulous. This post could have been titled "Hello Luvah Part 2"
I went to the Apple Store at about 7:45 am since I read online that they had the phone in stock and were opening early for iphone sales...there were already about 50 people ahead of me! Luckily, because Apple is Awesome...they gave vouchers to the folks standing in line so if you came back any time that day before 6pm, you were guaranteed the iphone you requested. I came back around 12:30 (after watching the new Batman flick...Heath Ledger was absolutely amazing) and there was still quite a line, so I went to lunch with my dad, went back, stood in line for about an hour and in about 10 minutes with the iphone gurus, had my new phone.
Some of the coolest features I've discovered (and I'm sure I haven't even cracked the surface)...it can GPS your location and give you driving directions to your destination...or search nearby for things like starbucks, banks, etc. You can make your own ringtown out of itunes songs and even pick the snippet of song you want to be the actual ringtone...you can listen to internet radio...and of course do anything on the internets your heart desires. I paid my credit card bill just a few minutes ago! The interface is spectacular. The big downfall I've discovered is it lacks a really good MMS system (multimedia messaging)...but there are "workarounds" and I'm sure it won't be long until the 3rd party application comes in and saves the day now that the apple genius' are allowing that sort of thing.
It really is cool. I don't think I'm important enough to be as connected as I am, but oh well...I like to feel important. Below is a pic of me and the new phone, taken with my MacbookPro camera. Geek is chic...right?
