Fun Times in the Fall

Last weekend was a good one...JW2 was in town to go see Coldplay (alas, no free tiks for me ala NKOTB) so we hung out on Saturday and had breakfast, did a little shopping and then went to see a documentary that my old friend Aaron (and Jess' brother) worked on.  It was called They Killed Sister Dorothy and was being shown at the Denver Film Festival.  It was really a powerful thing on many levels, both in story and in seeing the impact film works such as this one can truly have.  We all got a little excited when Aaron's name rolled in the credits.  The documentary is short-listed for an Oscar and if you get an opportunity to see it, I'd highly recommend it.  We ended the day with a stop at the neighborhood gellato place and I had pinapple upside down gellato...yummy.

Saturday night I watched OU absolutely obliterate Texas Tech.  That's what I get for wanting OU to win something...I needed them to win by about 3 points and instead, they won by about 70...they'll always find a way to screw you in the end, those Sooners.

Sunday was a Bubbly Wine Club Brunch in Boulder!  I'm bummed I didn't bring my camera, but we had a delicious feast (I think Julie deserves the award for best food thus far at a wine club event, especially considering she almost burned her fingers off) and lots of bubbly...needless to say, champagne in the morning does not a productive afternoon make.

It's hard to believe it's Thanksgiving week already!  Thanksgiving is even more awesome this year, as Texas plays Texas A&M on Thanksgiving night.  Somehow the aggies have managed to beat us the past two years.  Lots on the line this year though, so we need to win and win BIG.  All I know is I'm glad Obama is convinced a college football playoff is the only solution to the disaster known as the BCS...I know he has a lot on his plate, but I'm hoping it makes it into his agenda for the first 100 days.

Thanks for watching the film with us! Aaron was really excited that we went and supported it. It's cool to feel like an insider (but not a snob) You guys have a great Thanksgiving Day!
