Well, the day is here. Election day. It seems like only yesterday, when in fact it was a 1.5 years ago, that I sat in a room in Denver with 50 or so other people at the Obama campaign's first organizational meeting. I met some great people at that meeting that I still am friends with today...folks like Lisa and Mike who were on my District 5 team where we organized a very successful Bowl for Obama event in November 2007. A month later, Mike and Laurie and I drove to Iowa for the weekend. Then came early 2008 full of wins (Iowa!), losses (New Hampshire!), Super Tuesday and the crazy Colorado caucus, and even a campaign trip to Wyoming of all places. Then of course, the big acceptance speech.
Its been a crazy journey and the most patriotic thing I've ever done has been getting involved in the campaign. I wish I could be a bit more poetic, but the phrase below pretty much sums up how I feel about this campaign, and what the campaign and *fingers crossed* presidency of Barack Obama will do for this country. You see, my voice has been heard. And if my voice can change a room...then...
It can change a city
If it can change a city
Then it can change a state
If it can change a state
Then it can change a nation
And if it can change a nation
Then it can change the world
If it can change a city
Then it can change a state
If it can change a state
Then it can change a nation
And if it can change a nation
Then it can change the world
Together we can.
