Surviving my 10-mile training run...Priceless.
I survived my 10-mile run on Saturday. I actually felt really strong during it considering my mileage has been down as I deal with my IT band issue. I intended to go slowly but ran with Laurie faster than I usually train at...IT is still an issue but I'm able to run and the pain post-run isn't as intense so we'll see...I think they key is not stopping. I can take walk breaks but the minute movement in my leg stops its not really a good scene. I guess that is motivation to keep going! This weekend's run is HUGE becuase if I don't get in at least a few serious distance runs of 16-20 miles I don't really know how the whole chicago marathon thing is going to happen...wish me luck! If you need me this week I'll be on my foam roller!
My new motto:
"The answer to the big questions in running is the same as the answer to the big questions in life: Do the best with what you've got."
