Perhaps in a move to manufacture optimism, Pantone has named 2009 the year of Mimosa. The hue is definitely bright and sunny.
According to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, "The color yellow exemplifies the warmth and nurturing quality of the sun, properties we as humans are naturally drawn to for reassurance. . . . Mimosa also speaks to enlightenment, as it is a hue that sparks imagination and innovation."
Are you a fan of this bright yellow shade, or do you prefer the more morose purple hue of Pantone's color of the year for 2008, Blue Iris?

I just like the name Mimosa...any color named after an alcoholic beverage is alright in my book!! Cheers to 2009!
I can't believe I find out about this on your blog. Did you see the amazing glasses Pantone is coming out with?? You can pre-select the color you want!
