Thanksmas with the Lemmings!

Some of the eight bajillion photos we took can be found here.

We've taken to a new tradition here, and that is to celebrate Thanksmas with the Lemmings between Thanksgiving and Christmas...its so much cheaper and easier to fly!

This year, the gang was here for a full week. Last Sunday, we went to see Seussical the Musical at the Arvada Center. An old friend of Jen and I's from our Cheyenne days was in it, so it was pretty fun to see him up there still performing after all these years. I think Matthew might have liked it the most...he seemed in awe of all of the lights and colors, and even started to sing along. We followed up the show with a trip to Casa Bonita...for those of you who only think its on Southpark, you are wrong. The food is awful, with the exception of the sopapillas and margaritas. Morgan became a pro at singing the Casa Bonita song (ala Southpark) and even named her My Little Pony after the place later in the week.

We had "Christmas Eve" on Wednesday night and had a family night of Rock Band. Even Morgan and Matty were feeling the beat...Morgan did the drums by herself one round to Weezer's "Say it Ain't So" and with a little help in picking the right color, was able to almost make it through the song! Matty was clapping along.

As is typical Morgan fashion, she developed a mystery illness the day Mimi took off of work to spend time with her, but it didn't impact our day too much...we spent the morning opening presents (lots of Hello Kitty stuff, even though Morgan was sure to tell me that she had told Santa she wanted PRINCESS stuff so hopefully he's listening now...) and then colored and used all of our new lip stuff. In the afternoon we built a snowman that I was pretty proud of, and then Morgan knocked it down. So I threw snow on her, and she cried. Oh, Auntie Mimi. What a goober. That night, Mama, Papa and Mimi (which Morgan learned to spell thanks to a non-stop coaching session from yours truly) took Morgan to her first movie! We went to see Bolt...she had a good time, althought that might have been due to the icees, popcorn and peanut m&ms. At one point she said, "Mimi, turn it down. It's too loud!" She didn't want to leave so we watched some of the credits and everything...me and my mom have been anxiously awaiting morgan being able to go to the movies, so this was definitely a highlight!

Matty started *this close* to crawling...I tried bribing him with Bevo, Chicken Elmo, balls and all sorts of fun treasures but it was finally Mama's chocolate cake that got the forward motion down. He's really quite a loud little dude...and when he spits his food, he really gets his whole body into it. It's pretty funny. His parents think he looks like Cooper the Longhorn that I gave him for Christmas...I'll admit the hair is strikingly similar :) By the end of the week, he was getting pretty mobile!

On Friday night, I took Morgan on a date to Winter Wonderlights at The Wildlife Experience. We had a FABULOUS time! We saw a ton of Christmas lights (which Morgan LOVES) and went to Santa's village where we met Mrs. Claus, Santa and saw real reindeer. We were in a "parade" with a bunch of crazy elves, had hot chocolate and it was hard to tear Morgan away. Date nights with Auntie Mimi rock!
They left back for Atlanta today...we had a really great visit and I'll sure miss the Lemmings! The good news is, they got home just in time to FIND HUDDLE! Yeah!

I think I need to photoshop myself into this picture...
